Modifications and customizations have always been an integral aspect of the motorcycle scene. There’s no shortage of stunning Instagram pics of custom motorcycles. Many bikers are not pleased with the original design that the motorcycle offers and therefore, opt for customizations. They tend to modify the stock version with elements that they think would make the bike more suited to the needs that they have. Some even do it to add an element of uniqueness to the motorcycle they own. It is a way of reflecting their own personality through the two-wheeler they drive around all day.

While some modifications are splendid and indeed make the motorcycle better than it originally was, others might not fall under this category. Sportbikes are the most common variant of motorcycles that often undergo disastrous modifications. These bikes are adequately designed and offer brilliant performance straight out of the factory, not requiring a lot many mods. Extended swingarms are most commonly put in place in order to stop the front wheel of the motorcycle from lifting, thereby providing the rider with a better performance in a straight line.

While some sportbikes are too powerful for the road, this is an impractical modification to do on a 600cc motorcycle and most people do it because they think it provides their bikes with an ‘oomph’ factor. What they actually end up doing is ruining the motorcycle’s performance.

9 Lowered Sportbikes

Lowering a sportbike seems like a rational decision if the rider is someone short or because they want to be able to touch the ground with their feet and have better control over their two-wheeler when it is standing.

However, it is a completely ridiculous modification to make when none of the aforementioned factors apply to the rider. Flat-footing the motorcycle, and even worse just lowering the rear while completely ignoring the front is a modification that bikers could do without.

8 Two-Brothers Exhaust

Completely impractical and capable of providing the motorcycle with nothing more than a bad appearance, the two-brother exhaust is one of the worst things that most motorcyclists have their bikes
