When it comes to car collections, few claim to have a better one than James Bond. A number of great sports cars have been showcased in the franchise down the years, from Lotus’ to Mustangs – and everything in between.

However, no car company is more closely linked to a fictional character than Aston Martin is to 007, who are as integral to the franchise as the villain. A number of classic Aston’s have graced our screens down the years, including the Vanquish, the DB10, and the DBS.

All are worthy contenders for the honour of best Bond car, but none can hold a candle to the winner: the one, the only…Aston Martin DB5.

Stears worked his magic, converting the car into a gadget-laden masterpiece – and thus, a legend was born.

The car had been a tremendously effective selling point for the new franchise, even being branded “The Most Famous Car In The World ” at the 1964 New York Worlds Fair. It, therefore, stayed on as Sean Connery’s trusted companion for Thunderball, helping to cement its place in Bond folklore.

Mechanically, it was a more than capable challenger to some of the top Sports cars of the era – with a top speed of 145mph. But it was aesthetically that the DB5 really shone, as its gorgeous design wowed all who saw it. For the character of Bond, it was the perfect partner, oozing class, style and functionality. Like Bond, it got to the job done with flair and panache.

After two decades of car experimentation, the franchise decided to return to an old favorite in the mid-1990s. With a
