10 Mitsubishi 6G72 DOHC

The 6G72 is a series of V6 engines produced by Mitsubishi in three different variables: a 12 valve SOHC, a 24 valve SOHC, and a 24 valve DOHC, in which we are interested. The 24v-DOHC has two variants, a naturally aspirated one with 225 horsepower and a twin-turbocharged version with 320 horsepower.

The engine is a 3 liter turbocharged V6 that produces 320 horsepower. This engine was used on the Mitsubishi Debonair, and the famous 3000GT VR4, known as GTO in some countries, and rebadged as a Dodge Stealth in the U.S.

9 Honda B16B

The B series engines from Honda are four-cylinder engines with Dual Overhead Cam Shaft (DOHC) produced between 1989 and 2001. These are performance-oriented engines that feature the first version of the famous VTEC system.

The B16B particularly is a 1.6l naturally aspirated engine with 180 horsepower. It was used only for the Civic Type-R EK9, but the engine shares its block with the one in the Integra Type-R.

8 Nissan SR20DET

The SR20DET is the successor of the CA18DET, and it was fitted in a variety of Nissan cars at the time. It’s a four-cylinder 2-liter turbocharged engine with DOHC that produces around 200 horsepower. The engine code is pretty easy to read. SR stands for the engine family, 20 is for 2 liters, D for DOHC, E means that it has electronic injection, and the T is for turbo.

It was used in several cars, such as the 180SX, the Nissan Sunny, the Pulsar GTI-R, and Silvia.

7 Mitsubishi 4G63T
