The Fast and Furious franchise ensured that American audiences got a chance to fall in love with the Nissan Skyline GT-R, even though the rest of the world has long since known that the car known as “Godzilla” is one of the best ever to emerge out of Japan. But even Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner would probably have had a fit if he pulled up to the line and looked over to see this heavily modified R33-generation Skyline GT-R which has been built up by Gley Guillaumen in France featuring a supercharged Toyota 1UZ V8 under the hood, among a laundry list of extensive modifications that could make this one of the most impressive Godzillas ever to hit the road in real life or on the silver screen.

Toyota’s quad-cam 1UZ-series V8 has become a staple in the tuning community in much the same way as the ever-popular Toyota Supra 2JZ-GTE, which the Fast and Furious films also helped to popularize. In this case, Guillaumen has dropped in a 1UZ-FE and then bolted an Eaton M112 supercharger on top complete with a custom-built water-to-air intercooler to help keep intake temperatures more reasonable. Meanwhile, a 2JZ’s 90mm throttle body, Bosch fuel injectors, BPP fuel rails, and ignition coils courtesy of an Audi R8 all fit into the extensive build.

The entire car has been stripped and rebuilt, from the bare-bones internals surrounded by a roll cage built by Blood Motorsport to the massive rear wing and steering wheel. Converting the car to V8 power doesn’t sound to have been an easy project, as a PMC Motorsport adapter plate was necessary to allow the supercharged powerplant to route power through a BMW six-speed stick shift. All in, there’s no doubt Paul Walker would have approved of this build.
